Kitchen refurbishments and door replacement
If your units are still sound, you may not need a whole new kitchen. We replace doors, drawer fronts, worktops and panels, and we make doors to fit almost any unit, whoever supplied it.
A lot of kitchens are replaced when only the fronts have aged. If the cabinets are solid and the layout still works, replacing what you see can give the kitchen a new look for far less than a full refit, and with much less upheaval. It does not matter whether we fitted the kitchen originally or someone else did, or how old it is, as long as the units are in good order.

- A few units, to change or improve the layout
You can replace as much or as little as you like. Some customers change just the doors. Many change the doors and worktops together, and some replace the appliances at the same time.
Doors to fit any unit
The usual problem with replacement doors is finding ones that fit: odd sizes, and hinge positions that do not line up with what is available. Because we manufacture in our own Kirkby workshop, we can make doors to fit any unit type, standard or bespoke. We have worked on hundreds of refurbishments where the original units were kept, so we know what works and what does not.
A small change to the layout
Adding one or two new cabinets can change how a kitchen works. On many door replacements, a couple of extra units or a reworked corner has made the kitchen far better for everyday use. We build any new units to match the existing ones.
Example: a new look 20 years on
We fitted a kitchen for one Liverpool family more than 20 years ago. The units were still in excellent condition, but they wanted a new style. We fitted white gloss handleless doors and drawer fronts, grey granite effect worktops and splashbacks, and added new cabinets on one side to change the layout. With new French doors, the room feels brighter and bigger, and the cost stayed well below a full replacement. See the project.

Questions we’re often asked
How do I know if my kitchen is worth refurbishing?
If the cabinets are dry, square and solid, the hinges and drawers still work, and you are happy with the layout, a refurbishment is usually worth it. If units are swollen from leaks, sagging, or the layout does not suit you, a new kitchen may be better value. We will look and give you an honest view.
Can you match my existing units if I add new ones?
Yes. We make our carcasses in our own workshop, so we can build new units to the sizes of your existing ones and fit them with the same new doors, so old and new look like one kitchen. Inside, the new units may look slightly different from the old ones.
Is a door replacement much cheaper than a new kitchen?
It is usually a good deal cheaper, because you keep the carcasses, and there is less building, plumbing and electrical work. How much you save depends on what you replace. New doors alone cost least. Adding worktops, appliances or new units brings the cost closer to a new kitchen. We price the options side by side.
How long does a door replacement take to fit?
Much less time than a full kitchen, because the units stay in place and the kitchen stays usable for most of the job. Doors are made to order in our workshop first. Fitting is typically [CONFIRM: typical fitting time for a door replacement], a little longer if new worktops or units are included.
